Simon's blog (the official one)

Simon has been blogging for sometime and he also has experience doing it from various places. He has blogged from his bicycle saddle on two trips from Land’s End to John o’ Groats while raising money ruralnet|uk’s Participation Fund.

He used to use a system called Typepad but he is now using ruralnet|online webspace to maintain his CEO’s blog. To get started, and so as not to lose valuable material(!) he exported all the information from hi Typepad blog and imported it here.

He doesn’t blog everyday just when something catches his eye or someone asks him for his views on something.

“I used to do everything within email” says Simon “but that mean good things were lost or made inaccessible. Now, when I’m asked for an opinion I put my ideas on my blog and point the questioner there. I find now that I can add value to what I write for the enquirer by linking to things I’ve written before that are relevant. Much more efficient, much more accessible and much more useful. My blog gives me a track record.”

If you would like to do something similar and would like us to help you please contact Rob Mannion: r[dot]mannion[at]ruralnet[dot]org[dot]uk or 0845 1300411. Time and material charges would apply. otherwise, apply for free webspace to do it yourself.
