Caz Asks:

Hi Alex, I’d like to ask, when you seriously recommended getting used to exercising first thing in the morning slowly, how would one build it up slowly? Also, I sometimes feel hungry in the middle of the session when I work out in the morning and I feel the rumbling is affecting my work-rate. What would be the best solution to this? Thanks :)

Alex’s Answer:

Hi Caz. The reason that I suggested slowly getting used to exercise in the morning is because it isn’t for everyone. Some people get light headed when they exercise early due to low energy levels. Once you feel comfortable that you can work out in the morning then the first thing is to build up the frequency of your sessions. If you are only doing one session a week in the morning, maybe build it up to 3 per week. The next aspect to build up is the intensity of the session, i.e. how hard it is. Again, be cautious with this due to having low energy levels in the morning.

I know exactly what you mean about your growling stomach as I used to experience this too. I generally found that a Banana and a glass of juice was enough to keep my stomach quiet and not affect my exercising.
