Too much TV contributes to an unhealthy lifestyle, promotes obesity, takes over family time and even negatively affects your school and work life. Take control this TV Turn-Off Week (23 – 29 April).
The average person in the UK spends over 2,5 hours watching TV every day – that’s more time than on their social life, hobbies, playing sport and reading put together, according to National Statistics. And the evidence is that cutting down will only have a positive effect.
Millions of people all over the world have taken part in TV Turn-Off Week since its start in 1995. The aim is to ban TV for an entire week, and concentrate instead on family life, reading and being creative, and hopefully reducing TV watching time in the future.
